DTN COMMENTS:  A few dressed deals are being reported sold in Eastern 
Nebraska, at $372, fully steady with last week's weighted average. A few 
bids are on the table in Texas, but so far, they are being passed as they 
are well below current asking prices of $238 to $240. We expect that 
packer inquiry will continue to improve as the day progresses, but it is 
very possible that significant trade volume could be delayed until 
sometime on Friday. 

Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 390.63 -1.06, select 393.33 -
2.16) with light to moderate box movement (37.30 lds of choice cuts, 3.92 
lds of select cuts, 7.95 lds of trim, and 8.89 lds of ground). The 
choice/select spread is down 2.70. At this time live cattle futures are 
mostly moderately lower, while feeder issues are mixed, mostly higher.

For the period of March 13th to March 19th, net beef sales of 10,700 MT 
for 2026 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 19 percent 
from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Japan (2,900 MT), 
Taiwan (1,600 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT), Mexico (1,100 MT), and Canada 
(1,000 MT), were offset by reductions for the United Kingdom (100 MT). 
Exports of 14,500 MT were up 7 percent from the previous week and 9 
percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to 
Japan (4,800 MT), South Korea (4,100 MT), Taiwan (1,400 MT), Mexico 
(1,100 MT), and Hong Kong (1,100 MT).
