NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENTS: Formula totals for last week were mixed, higher in Texas, but
lower in Kansas and Nebraska: KS 68,510(-5,776), NE 51,570(-4,119), TX 62,005
(+4,113). Total trade volume was also mixed, higher in Texas, but lower in
Kansas and Nebraska: KS 78,478(-4,083), NE 72,330(-2,259), TX
64,358(+4,401). New showlists appear to be mixed, higher in
Nebraska/Colorado, about steady in Kansas, and lower in Texas. Bids and
asking prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will
likely be delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (Choice 366.83 +2.36, Select 360.45 -2.97),
with light box movement (15.69 lds of choice cuts, 5.40 lds of select cuts,
0.00 lds of trim, and 2.63 lds of ground). Cattle futures are not available due
to the Presidents Day Holiday.
